You will be visiting the first street laid out here in the Nation’s Oldest City back in the 1570’s. Aviles (pronounced Ah-vay-LEES) Street is named after the Spanish city in which St. Augustine’s founding father Pedro Menendez was born. An 18th century Spanish Military Hospital is here, along with other fantastic museums, art galleries, B&B’s and cafes.
